Network Meeting 2019, 3-5 June
The 2019 annual network meeting took place in Muldersdrift near Johannesburg, South Africa.
DARA welcomed its UK, SA and African partners to the meeting, together with the advanced training trainees and the 2018-9 basic training trainees. The purpose of the meeting was to inform trainees of the opportunities in research, industry, outreach and development across the countries participating in this programme. Academic staff presented the research activities at their partner institute. Talks on the status of the dishes and developments in each of the AVN partner countries informed participants on AVN progress. Related developments with the MeerKAT and SKA-mid arrays were also presented by SARAO representatives, Justin Jonas and Carla Sharpe. The CV surgery provided an fantastic opportunity for all trainees to receive individual advice on future career options.
